Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the 2020 Symposium still going to be held?

    • Yes, the 2020 Symposium is still scheduled for June 12, 13, & 14.  However, the event will be held online instead of in-person.

  • How do I access the online course?

    • First, register on Eventbrite.  The link is on the right of this page.  You will receive an email with login instructions.  The event will be held via the WebEx Platform.

  • Do I need any special software?

    • You'll need the WebEx application installed on your device.  It can be found at https://www.webex.com/downloads.html

    • You will also need a mobile device that can scan a QR code.  Most smartphones have this capability.

  • How many CEUs is the Symposium worth?

    • For 2020 we have re-aligned our CEU value.  Each session is individually approved for 1.0 NJ CEU.

  • Is this also registered for con ed credit in Pennsylvania?  If not, will you provide course attendance certificates that attendees could submit to the PA DOH for con ed by endorsement?

    • The symposium is approved for both NJ and PA credits.  Additionally, course completion certificates are also issued digitally at the completion of each session.

  • Is it safe to cancel my hotel stay for the weekend ? Or should I wait?

    • The symposium will not be held in person, only online.

  • How early are we going to be able to sign in for the day's events?  In case we have a problem with WebEx and have to contact Cisco Tech Support.  That can make us late to sign in.

  • Please, could you clarify how the bar scanner on our phone is going to work?

    • Access to the required post-session exams will be provided by scanning a QR code that will be presented within WebEx.

    • Here’s a video tutorial on how to scan a QR code on an iPhone (iOS 11 and up) - https://youtu.be/isfYcG_FmG4

    • Android users will need to download a QR Scanning app from the Google Play store

    • Yes, WebEx has an Android app for download from the Google Play store.  However, in order to gain access to the post-session quizzes (required by OEMS to earn CEU credit), you will need a dedicated device to scan a QR code.  You will not be able to scan the QR code from the same device that you are viewing the presentations from.

  • First time making sure that I'm getting all my CEU.

    • Each attendee has the ability to earn up to 24 total CEUs for the 2020 Symposium.  Each session is valued at 1.0 CEU, so if the attendee is present online for each session, and passes all the post-session quizzes, a total of 24 CEUs may be earned.

  • Reg for class and never got anything about going vitral training

    • All updates and information has been sent to each attendee’s registered email address.  The most recent update was sent on May 21, 2020

  • What if by chance someone does not pass the quiz?

    • Attendees can re-take the quiz as many times as necessary in order to pass, within the 5 minute timeframe.  After 5 minutes, the quiz will be locked.

  • If I registered for the actual class already do I still need to register for the web class?

    • If you previously registered for the in-person Symposium, you do NOT need to re-register.  Keep an eye on your email for instructions on how to login to the online event.

  • Is it correct that only 1.0 ceu will be given for each day? That is, about 8 hour for only 1.0 ceu? Do I have that correct?
